New York, New York

Despite the recent budget hell crisis, my husband was kind enough to peel himself away from the office to drive us up to Manhattan for the weekend.  My parents were up there for several days and we wanted to see them while they were relatively close by.  And we’re always up for an excuse to go to New York!

It was a quick trip—it’s only a 3.5 hour drive, so we went up Saturday morning and came back Sunday afternoon.  Plenty of time for shopping, one great lunch, one great cupcake stop, one great dinner, and one great brunch!

I’m not sure how much fun Tyler and Rick had, but Mom and I had a blast.

We went to H&M…

We went to Fishs Eddy…

We went to TopShop…

They eventually wizened {<—Blogger is telling me that’s the correct spelling…True?} up and went to see a movie.  So we went to shop for jewelry and share some cupcakes over bubbly…

It was a quick weekend, but it was a lot of fun!  July, in fact, turned out to be a great month with my family.  August should be even better—my sister is flying up with my niece in a few weeks…

{Watch out DC!  Not sure you can handle this much cuteness…}

….and we’re heading to Savannah for ten days while Congress is in recess.

{Yes, that’s what we plan our life around.}

It’s always good to be with family.
