Miss Me Yet?Monday, April 05, 2010
Alright readers, T minus 2 days until the big test! I randomly switch between panic attacks and just not giving a crap anymore. And while I am loathing all of this studying, I will say that I currently have the most complete body of knowledge regarding all things physical therapy now more than I have had at any other point of my education.
(I google image’d “stressed out” and this is what I got—random AND funny. What’s wrong with James? That reminds me—remind me to tell you about the time I saw him in LA and my dad embarrassed the total mess out of me.)
From my anatomy to disease pathology to orthopedics and spinal to pediatric milestones to pharmacology and metabolic profiles to stroke and spinal cord injuries… I know it, baby. If you have a question, ask me now!
I’ll quickly fill you in on a few fun things that happened over the weekend and other stuff I can’t wait to blog about once I get my brain back from the PT gods.
First, He is risen indeed! My sister said it best, that Easter Sunday is always the greatest reminder of the hope that Jesus offers us beyond this earth. We went to an awesome service at our church with several of our friends and I had tears in my eyes through most of the worship… Tyler and I enjoyed a great brunch afterward sitting outside on the patio of The Carlyle (one of our faves). It was a beautiful day and a much needed break from my books.
Second, WE DID IT!! We finally booked our tickets to Italy!! Or actually, to Paris! We’ve been saving our airline miles for years in anticipation of this trip and we originally planned to have our tickets booked in DECEMBER and since we still hadn’t done it, I was afraid we might not ever get it done. We had to do a bit of finagling and transferring with our separate miles accounts, but the tickets are BOOKED and that’s all that matters. We’re flying to Paris, spending a day or two there, and then taking the train down to Italy for two fabulous, sun-drenched, gelato-filled, look-at-all-this-culture weeks. Neither of us have been to Europe, so I’m anticipating a Griswald-esque comedy of errors, but I. Can’t. Wait. Now that the tickets are booked, we can start all the real planning. So bring on the recommendations!
(If you could tell me where this is, that’d be great. Because I’d like to go.)
Not only am I a free woman starting Wednesday at high noon—that alone would leave me satisfied—but I have a fab weekend to look forward to. Friday I’m heading to St. Michael’s, MD for a girl’s weekend to celebrate a friend of mine who’s getting married soon. St. Michael’s is where they filmed Wedding Crasher’s and though it’s really close to us, I’ve never been up to Annapolis or the Eastern Shore. I’m excited to hang out on a dock with a glass of wine and lot of girls. Super. duper. excited.
I have to leave the weekend early though because Tyler and I are going to the “Grin Gala” on Saturday night to benefit Operation Smile, who are clients of Tyler’s company. After a million and a half days in sweats and glasses, this girl can’t wait to get all dolled up. [I smell a shopping trip….] The theme is the Roaring Twenties. Have I mentioned I’ve always had a secret desire to be a flapper? Because I have.
I also have a solo trip to Savannah planned at the end of the month. More on that later. Sheesh! Just writing all of that is making it hard to think about returning to my notes!
But I gotta do it. The sun is shining and it’s a beautiful day, so I’m headed outside while I hit the books. As always, thanks for checking in—hope y’all had a great Easter weekend.
