Hi sweet friends! I'm pleased to announce that traumatic/stressful/miserable experience from last week is now successfully resolved! Time to move on.

So now for an update. I had every intention of telling you guys last week about a special visitor we've had for the last few weeks. Mr. Flat Stanley! My little brother Casey just finished reading Flat Stanley for school and we were honored that he picked his big sister and brother-in-law to send Stanley to. We've tried to do as much as we can to show him around our great city. Visits to the Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Lincoln Memorial... We even included him in our football fanaticism and let him visit a local elementary school. Stanley was shipped back home today and we were sad to see him go, but sure had fun with him.

Here are a few pictures from his visit and from our last two weekends...

Flat and I calling the Dawgs for the South Carolina game. He loved his new t-shirt and really got into the game. He did ask some poignant questions though, like "Why is your quarterback purple??" and "I thought the SEC was famous for their defense?" Despite his confusion, he joined Tyler and I in our both-our-teams-won-today victory dance party after the game.

We took Stanley to Arlington Cemetary over the Sept. 11 weekend to pay his respects to the men and women who have bravely fought for our country...

And we went to see Ted Kennedy's grave while we were there. A great resting spot.

The Supreme Court

The Capitol...

And I introducted him to my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. Woohoo!! PSL is back!! Seasonal favorites for me go like this.... Christmas. College football season. Pumpkin Spice Latte season.

And here he is at the (HEART BREAKING) Nebraska game last weekend... Between that game and Georgia's last two, I'm convinced that football is going to KILL me. I think I've developed chronic hypertension...

Ladies' man. (Some of Tyler's friends from college.)

Tailgating with our friends from Charlotte, Mandy and Clay.

And check out all of the fun little friends we got to hang out with! Tyler and I were the ONLY couple without kids, which didn't help cure Tyler's recent baby itch at all. Little Miss Blakely (far right) LOVED Tyler and she had him wrapped around her finger. After we left on Sunday, we were told she walked around the house asking, "Where's Tyla? Where's Tyla?"

We had a great time playing host to Flat Stanley and hanging out with our family and friends last weekend. Despite the loss and despite the crappy circumstances going into the weekend, we had a pretty fun trip.

Thank you so much for all of your emails, texts, prayers, and comments over the last week. It was great to know that I had so much support. Love you guys!
