Show Us Your Life- Wedding Dress!

Friday, July 24, 2009

The "Show Us Where You Live" tours, as created by Kelly, have now become Show Us Your Life "tours" (good thing, because I ran out of rooms in my condo a loooong time ago!). This week is wedding dress week, so here it is! My wedding dress... (And some other wedding pictures just for fun, because who can narrow down their favorite wedding pictures, right girls??)

I found my wedding dress at the Gingerbread House in Savannah, GA (hometown) after many, many weeks of searching. After looking everywhere from fancy boutiques in Georgetown (in DC) and Alexandria, to David's Bridal, the internet, and shops in Savannah, I finally found the dress... A sample dress for $500. Just a simple satin dress, buttons up the back, and thin spaghetti straps (I knew I would cut them off or cover them up...). My mom made my veil (cathedral for the ceremony, shorter one for reception), two different sashes (again, long for ceremony, short for reception), and we had a lace capelet made by a local designer. We saved lots of moolah...

So here's the dress alone...

And then comes the sash....

And then the jewelry....

View of the back.

And then the veil...
Now for some ceremony shots....

I love this pictures. It's kind of grainy because it's poor quality, but I like that it looks old...

Long story short, we had our wedding pictures redone about a year later (after I chopped off my hair, thus the different 'do.)

So, there it is! Thanks for stopping by... Happy Friday!!
(I wrote this on Friday and forgot to post it before I went out of town for the weekend, in case any faithful readers are confused...)
