Life Lessons from Ruth...and Christie

Wednesday, October 01, 2008

A few weeks ago, I spent my Tuesday morning preparing a Bible study for my small group. The study was on the story of Ruth and Naomi, a story of loyalty, devotion, reward, and blessing. I spent time reading, studying and writing, learning about how God provides in circumstances that seem impossible and how He blesses the loyal and steadfast.

Later that afternoon, after I'd finished, I pulled up my friend Christie's
blog (a daily activity of mine) and read her latest entry describing an overwhelming and burdening experience that God surely provided for in the most unexpected ways. I was overwhelmed by the parallel that was painted for me that afternoon, the Lord revealing His work and His blessings in His children's lives from stories thousands of years ago old and still today in the life of my dear friend. I was reminded of the story yesterday as I was preparing for another study and wanted to share it.

We may not always see God's work or understand His work, but He is always at work. He is always prepared to teach and bless His children, those who are obedient and loyal.

Be blessed. Praise Him.
